About Get Sorted
Get Sorted turns official preparedness advice into something you can use in a few minutes: how long your home would last, what is missing, and what to do when the power goes off.
It was built in Fife, Scotland, after the UK government's Be Ready campaign launched in October 2026 and shops started selling out of water, tins and torches. We wanted a calm, quick way for any household to check where they stand.
Where our figures come from
Water amounts, days and phone numbers come from each country's official guidance, such as GOV.UK Be Ready in the UK and Ready.gov in the US. Food safety times come from the Food Standards Agency. Each page lists its sources and the date we last checked them.
How we make money
Get Sorted is free. Some links to Amazon are affiliate links: if you buy through them, we earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This never changes what we recommend.
